Andorra will solve the problem of border traffic jams

Andorran Minister of Spatial Planning Jordi Torres, introduced the project that changes the traffic organization at the entrance to Sant Julia de Loria. Proposed measures will reduce traffic in the area, but won’t have as high environmental impact as a tunnel construction in the area.

The reconstructed Avinguda Francesc Cairat is expected to open on March 16. There will be two lanes in the direction of Spain between Plaça Laurèdia and the Fontaneda roundabout, which will then connect to the existing two lanes to the border between Andorra and Spain.

It is planned to leave two lanes towards Spain and one towards Andorra.

Road reconstruction began in March 2018 and continues to this day. The total cost of this project amounted to 7.7 million euros.
